Jukebox #26 잘 지내더라 (You've Moved On) ♥︎

While listening to my iPod on the way to work, thinking about what song I should recommend this week, this song started playing. As usual, I don't remember the titles for most of the songs I listen to. I'd probably recognise the tune and maybe even be able to hum from start to end but I just have a problem with remembering song titles ><

Moving on, this week I'll be writing about Boyfriend's 잘 지내더라 (You've moved on).

I first chanced upon this song on Youtube when it appeared in my subscription list. I heard their comeback song but didn't check out the whole album. When this video appeared, I knew I had to check it out as it was an acoustic version. Of course, after listening to it, I decided to check out the whole album.

I've always liked Boyfriend though they're not that popular as compared to some other groups but I think they're not too bad when it comes to singing. I mean there are some groups that aren't well known and they're not good at singing so I really wonder how did they get out there.

For some reason, I do tend to like songs that are... sad. (Check the lyrics translations here.) It's a song about breakup and thus making it a sad song. It somewhat reminds me of Kyuhyun's At Gwanghwamun as it's also a sad song and I've been loving that song quite a lot recently. I'm not surprised though, I do like slow songs or ballads.

Boyfriend definitely has changed a lot since their debut. I think they've matured since then. They literally seemed like boys when they first made their debut but now they seem like much more mature and even their concepts are different. I hope that one day they'll be able to be recognised as well!

So that's that for this week's song recommendation! Haven't really thought about what to write next week. But anyway, till then!

Mini Etude House Haul ♥︎

Happy Valentine's Day! Hehehe. Of course when this post finally gets published, it'll be way past 14th February. I thought the greeting seemed appropriate since I got these products on Valentine's Day and it's also a part of the Valentine's Special at Etude House.

I don't know if this post will be lengthy but I'll definitely keep the reviews short and sweet so that it's easy for comprehension and if you wanna read it quick. If you don't already know, I'm a huge Etude House fan so I might go on forever but I'll try not to hehehe... Here goes...

I got 3 items from the Etude House Chocolate Series and 2 other items. The Chocolate Series is a limited series and it's only available at the Etude House Flagship Store at Wisma. So those of you who are planning to purchase items from this series, do head there!

#1 Give Me Chocolate Shadow

When I saw this on the Etude House website (which I frequently visit) I hoped that they would bring it into Singapore. So thankful that they did even though it's a limited series and only available at one store.

I got this palette in Cherry Truffle. I watched a few Youtubers getting this chocolate eyeshadow as well but they picked the Salted Caramel palette instead. I preferred the Cherry Truffle one just because the coloured shadow is matte as compared to the Salted Caramel one which is sort of glittery.

I'm quite pleased with the texture of the eyeshadow. I had it on for a day and it lasted the whole day without fading. It's pretty pigmented as well so I didn't need to put a lot on for it to be visible. I liked how the 2 pink and the brown shades matched together. I didn't need to add anything else to blend it together, neither did I need to blend a lot for the shades. So I was pretty impressed with that.

The packaging, as you can see in the photos above, it actually really looks like chocolate packaging! As compared to the previous Sweet Recipe Series that Etude House had I think a year or 2 ago, this is a huge improvement! It's not only pretty but it's not flimsy!

Overall, I really like this product and to me, it was a totally worth the trip down to town and of course was worth the money.

At the back of the box, there's some cute text as well. How am I supposed to throw out the box like that? :/

#2 Give Me Chocolate Nails

I haven't had the chance to try out these nail polishes yet so I'm quite excited to try them out! I got 2 bottles in Mint Chocolate and Chocolate World. I knew I had to get the Mint Chocolate one right after I saw it on the Etude House website. I mean who could possibly resist such delicious looking nail colours right?

Although I've yet to try these nail polishes, I've tons of Etude House polishes so I know the quality shouldn't be poor! I usually apply one coat and it quite thick already. I think in my nail polish collection, I've the most from Etude House >< I really should stop buying but they've really pretty colours.

#3 Princess Eyelashes

I can't really stick falsies well so I don't own many falsies. In the past I've been using the same pair from The Face Shop. Then I was worried about how I'll look with falsies so I've been using half lashes. So this is the first time I'll be trying out full lashes.

Etude House had quite a wide range of lashes. So I picked out 02 in the volume range that looked pretty natural. My own lashes aren't very long or very thick so I just chose one that's as natural as possible. Haha. The price of these lashes are quite affordable, around $5 a box. I'll be using this during Chinese New Year. Hope it doesn't disappoint.

#4 Face Colour Corset

I was looking for a bronzer for contouring for sometime. I recently got a bronzer and highlighter from 3CE unfortunately the bronzer part is too light for my tone so I went out looking for something darker.

Since Etude House is more accessible than any other makeup shops, I decided to pop in and get this. I got this bronzer in the shade Tight Shading Corset. It's not very dark and it has a yellow undertone so it doesn't stand out that much. It's matte and has no shimmers which makes it pretty easy to blend.

As you can see, I've used this quite a bit! I've been experimenting with different brushes and so far I quite like using the powder brush from the 3CE travel brush set with this product.

That's all the products I bought from my recent Etude House visit! Hope this post has provided useful insights if you're looking out for new products! I'll make sure to blog more often about makeup as well in the coming months! Till then~

December & January Makeup Faves ♥

Makeup favourites for the months of December & January! ♥
This will be my first favourites post! I mean I talk about makeup here and there, almost all of the time on twitter. So I thought it would be a good idea to write a monthly favourites post and talk about the products I've been loving for that past month.

I've been meaning to post this up since a few months ago but it's been sitting in my draft folder for some time! Finally I'm getting down to publishing this and hopefully I'll maintain this monthly throughout the year!

In order to not make the post like super long and draggy, I'll just talk about an eye product, a lip product, a face product and a nail product ^^

Eye

This month I've been loving the Eye Primer from Innisfree! Ever since Innisfree opened here, I've been trying out and paying attention to more of their products. I decided to give this eye primer a shot after Jen, meejmuse on Youtube talked about it in one of her videos.

A bottle cost me about SGD $10 so it's not very costly. Plus each time, just a little product is sufficient to cover the whole eye.

Comparing this to the Urban Decay Primer Potion, I prefer this. I think this formula is more suited for my eyelids. I've seemingly oily eyelids and with the humid weather, the Urban Decay Primer Potion doesn't work that well as my eye makeup still smudges. This formula though, needs to be blended properly otherwise it'll leave white streaks on your eyelids that are quite unsightly. Also, there's no need to apply a thick layer, just a little will do. If I apply too much, I find it a little sticky and I'll take a longer time to blend it.

I definitely would recommend this product especially if you have oily eyelids or eye makeup that smudges easily.

Lips

I've been loving the Rosy Lip Tints from Etude House ever since I got them almost a year ago. (Read review here) It was from the 2013 fall collection and thankfully they didn't pull it off shelves!

I got this one #4 Sweet Poison before getting #5 Baby Peony for ₩8500 which converts back to about $10 SGD. And I already had #3 Rose Petal. I guess this product must be really popular. Just a few days ago I went into Etude House and this product costs $18 SGD when I got it for $14.90 SGD last year.

Below are some photos of the packaging and the shade.

I really am liking these like dark pink shades these few days. It's not like it's super bright since this product allows me to do gradient lips. It's really quite easy to control the thickness and darkness of the lips. Hehehe.

I think it's like a pretty good summer and fall colour as well. I usually wear this lip colour along with neutral or basic brown eye makeup. I usually wear it as a gradient colour so that it wouldn't stand out so much. Also, since I don't conceal my own lip colour, doing gradient lips actually looks quite natural.

I would recommend this product! It's still one of my favourite lip products and I'm thinking of getting another one >< I'm in the process of revising my shopping list for when Vaneh goes to Korea at the end of this year. It's not a very long list but I do need to revise it. Oopsy.

Face

This month, I've been focusing my cheek colour. For some strange reason I prefer my cheek colour to be visible as compared to before. But of course, if I decide to go with a dark or smokey eye then I would apply the cheek colour lightly.

So for this month, I've been really loving my new Clinique blush! It's the Clinique Cheek Pop in Plum Pop. I got this a Sephora for about $49 SGD. Yes, it was a 2nd month of work congratulatory gift to myself. Hehehe. I don't think it's a splurge even though it's slightly toward the expensive side.

I saw this on one of Jen frmheadtotoe's blog post or video and instantly fell in love with the packaging! Yes, I'm a sucker for pretty packaging and designs. I thought the flower was super pretty! And so far I've been using it almost every other day.

It took me some time to decide which shade to get. I wanted a more pinkish blush and both the Plum Pop and the Berry Pop shade. So I decided to ask the staff at Sephora for help. She told me the Plum Pop would be good enough as the Berry Pop shade would be very obvious.

After using it for the first time the next day, I really loved it! It didn't have a powdery finish but it was quite a smooth finish and it lasted much longer than other powder blushes I used. It lasted almost as long as a cream blush but it's just a powder blush! So I thought that was pretty awesome. Hehehe. Would definitely recommend this to people who are looking for a longer lasting blush.

Nails.

This month, I was in a glittery mood so I went ahead to experiment with some of the new polishes we got when we were in Korea. My sister literally bought a few bottles of nail polish from every brand we stepped our foot in. It was pretty cheap, costing about ₩1000 - ₩3000. It was so much cheaper comparing to what it costs here in SG. We seldom bought nail polishes here unless there was a sale.

So anyway, I decided to mix two shades. I picked out the dark blue shade first before finding the blue glitter in the box and decided to add that on the top.

And tadaaaaa!

It came out like kind of a Frozen feeling kind of style! I wore it took work and of course received many compliments from the kids. I told them Elsa did my nails! Hahaha. They didn't believe me but they agreed it looked like Frozen. Whatever a Frozen look is. Hehehe.

Sadly, it chipped off and now I'm letting my nails breathe before trying out new colours!

That's all for my December & January Favs! Hehehe. I've been using these products through these two months therefore I've decided to just combine it into one post!

Look forward to more makeup posts as well as the favourites for the future months to come. I hope these posts aren't too long and draggy! I just love talking about makeup!

Till next time~
