Beginnings & Endings ❤

It has been an eventful week! 

Other than it being the last week of my college life (the end of studying for 15 years), I had the opportunity to attend my first wedding of a friend and it was also my first Malay wedding! I was so excited! I have seen Malay weddings around my neighbourhood before but I've never had the chance to attend one. Hehehe. 

I arrived at the wedding venue early so I waited for Lycia to come. I didn't want to go inside by myself because it would have been sooooo awkward. I waited for a while and then I received a call from Guo - who was the bridesmaid with Cindy - to help her hold her bag. So I got to see the bride arriving at the wedding ceremony. Hehehe. Then, Lycia arrived and we headed in. 

As it was my first time attending a Malay wedding, I didn't have any idea what was going to happen.

I felt like a tourist at the wedding. I was looking around and everything! It was a really good experience! The food was so delicious! The other guests were very friendly as well! They explained to us (we were obviously looking very lost) what was going on and what they were doing. It was really nice of them ^^ 

Thanks Lissa for inviting me! I'll definitely use this experience when I'm teaching in the future ♥ 

And with beginnings, there are endings. 

Wednesday was our last and final day of school! It still hasn't fully registered in my brain yet that school's over. I think that it'll slowly start to sink in when I've settled my job issues. 

But of course, what do we do on the last day of school? Take photos!

Wheelock Wonder Women~ My friends and my support system through these two years. I can't imagine what school would have been like without you girls! Boston wouldn't have been the same without the eight of you too! I hope that as our schedules get busier with our new jobs, we would still meet up once and awhile to catch up. I'm finally starting to realize I don't know when I'll see you guys next >< But anyhow thanks for the past two years~ It's been great! ♥ 

Of course, what's the last day of school without a celebratory meal! Went for Korean BBQ with the Wonder Women and then went singing after that. 

It was worth it spending the last day of school with you girls. I'll miss y'all many many ♥ 

토요일 Tunes #2 DBSK's Something ❤

Kpop. Shuffle. Play.

This week, the song that was chosen (by my iTunes shuffling system) is DBSK's Something! 

I was actually looking forward to their comeback! You can probably say I'm almost a total SM fan >< I loved 'Something' when I first heard it! It's not the usual Kpop kind of song, if you know what I'm saying. The retro swing beat was great! Of course, their awesome vocals just tied everything together. 

The lyrics of this song talks about this girl having something and the girl the song is directed at has to do better in order to match up to the girl who has something. Some parts of the lyrics kind of remind me of TaeTiSeo's Twinkle as they are talking about how good they are. Maybe the lyrics are trying to make fun of those singers who think highly of themselves.

With the so called analysis of the lyrics, I sort of get why they chose to use caucasian actresses in their MV. They're probably trying to point out that that's the something different? Hahaha. Am I over analyzing? 

Without a doubt, the dance looks great! It feel like I'm watching a musical! Love it!

토요일 Tunes #1 SJ's Walkin' ❤

Kpop. Shuffle. Play.

I use to write about songs that are either new or the song that I'm constantly listening to. I then realized that it ends up to be the same few songs or songs by groups that I really like. So I decided to choose the songs by shuffling my playlist and recommend whatever song is first. And the title of these posts, "토요일 Tunes" is basically just "Saturday Tunes" which also means that I'll recommend a song every Saturday ^^

This week, Super Junior's Walkin' was chosen.

I'm not sure how popular this song is but it's one of my favourite songs from this album! I'm not just saying this because it's a Super Junior song. Hehe. It's like I really how the song starts plus I love the tune and beat. Not only that, the lyrics are really quite encouraging as well. It's like saying that you should keep walking no matter what challenges and what difficulties you face!

Super Junior actually performed this song live I think at Super Show 4. I'm not sure if they performed it at SS5 because I didn't attend it ㅠㅠ I don't know how the stage designers did it but it was pretty cool! They had like a treadmill on the stage so the members were walking on the spot. It was really cool!

Emergency Couple ❤

Here's another drama review! Well ever since Heirs, I've not stopped watching dramas >< It took me awhile to get started on 별그대 or You Who Came From the Stars but I managed to catch up with it real quickly. 

This drama, Emergency Couple, I read about it and I decided to watch it. I like Song Jihyo and the story line did sound interesting. But of course, with dramas, the initial writeup may sound really interesting but when it plays out, it doesn't really turn out to be whatever I expected. 

Short summary of what this dramas about. Once again I'll try not to reveal too much information for those who actually want to watch this drama. The whole drama is about this couple, Oh Changmin and Oh Jinhee who got married when they were quite young and then ended up getting a divorce after a year of marriage. The two of them meet again 6 years later, when they are both posted to the same hospital as interns.

Thankfully this drama has been great! It has met my expectations! Plus there's this...

Aside from Song Jihyo, the cute baby, there's also Choi Jinhyuk! He started filming this drama right after filming Heirs. So it was indeed surprising to see him play a totally different role. Instead of the serious, strict character he played in Heirs, we have him doing things like this...

I'm quite impressed with him in this drama! Song Jihyo and Choi Jinhyuk really portrayed the characters of Oh Jinhee and Oh Changmin really well. There's a pretty good mixture of awkward scenes as well as scenes that just make you crack up. Like this...

I really liked how as a viewer I was able to feel the feelings the characters were going through. It was very valid and really real. It was totally relatable! So I think the drama really did well in that sense. Not many dramas are able to make me feel that.

There wasn't a lack of romantic scenes as well. Hehehe. 

Their chemistry is pretty good! I recently saw an article talking about how Song Jihyo and Choi Jinhyuk have a good friendship offscreen as well and who knows they maybe dating. Lol nooooooo >< What about Gary~ Monday couple! 

Anyhow, there's 2 more episode left! This Saturday night they would be airing the 21st episode and honestly, I can't predict the ending. There's two ways that this drama could end. I'm hoping it will end the way I want it to. I've watched through all the episodes and waited for every episode, I really hope they don't do a twist. I. Will. Cry. Hahaha. 

It's annoying how every episode seems to end at a point where you're at the edge of the seat. And then you realize you have to wait a whole week. But I guess you can say that it's really worth the wait ^^ So if you're someone who likes romantic comedies, I would totally recommend this drama!
