I'm back with another makeup review! It's been awhile since I've written anything makeup related. Been more active on Dayre but there's nothing like blogging properly over here. Without further ado, let's go right into this makeup review!

I got this palette when my friends went to Korea. It was a new release at that time and not available in Singapore. So, all the more I should get it right?

This is a 10 color eye shadow like coffee roasting comes in various texture for different expression of the eyes for different occasions.

Thoughts

I initially wasn't going to get the palette but after getting it, I don't think there was a moment when I've regretted getting it. The only reason that kept me in a dilemma was that I already had the three Naked palettes and I wondered if I would need another neutral palette.

However, I found myself picking this palette up more than the other palettes I have. Compared to the Naked palettes, the size is much more makeup bag friendly and there’s a wide range of looks I can accomplish with this palette that suits my personal preference - the natural and yet sparkly kind of look. 

The palette comes with 10 shades and it costs about ₩23,000 (estimated around SGD $27 to $28). Which really isn't too bad! It's also compact and really portable which is definitely a plus point. It fits into my makeup pouch so I can really bring it out for any occasion! I can't imagine carrying a Naked palette out, I would be so worried I would drop it and the shadows just crumble. It'll be the ultimate makeup lover's nightmare. 

Another selling point, well for me at least, was the pretty names! Etude House manages to give their products interesting and fun names, sometimes even delicious names. Below are the swatches of the shadows as well as the names.

The palette offers a good mix of matte, shimmer as well as sheer ones. I personally think that Etude House has rather pigmented shadows. I didn't need to press hard or rub hard to get a decent amount of product, as per most Etude House shadows.

So far I have tried various combinations and the shadows seem to go well with each other! That's another reason why I like it, it's very versatile. I can do a simple natural look and I can also do a glam look. The two shimmery brown shades actually look very well together and the few times I've used them, people have complimented the look.

Verdict

This palette is indeed a good buy and definitely worth considering. The pros of the product is of it's size and of course being able to do many different looks with it. It makes the spending worth it because you can do many looks with it. The colour pay off is good too. I'm not sure if they still have these in stores but if they do, I highly recommend it!

Etude House: Berry Delicious Fantastic Colour Eyes ♥︎

When I first saw this series from Etude House, I knew I would getting at least a few of the products. This product isn't a part of the haul post I wrote earlier as I got it later on.

I wasn't intending on getting this product because of course the price wasn't favourable. On my birthday while I was just walking around, I saw this product sitting on the sale shelf of a Etude House store. I checked the price and it was I think around SGD $9. Although the sales lady mentioned that the birthday discount did not apply to discounted items, somehow after keying everything in, it further discounted this product. So in the end I got it for about SGD $6, which is ridiculously cheap.

You gotta love birthday discounts ♥

This is a 6 color eye shadow palette that comes in trendy colors and various textures for fantastic expression of the eyes for different occasions.

Thoughts

I really love the shades! 😍 Although I really don't like pink, I think pink eyeshadow colours are quite versatile and they look pretty good on tanner skin tones.

The names for this palette is just the cutest! Actually most of Etude House eyeshadows have very cute names. Sucker for pretty packaging and cute names! 

Here are the swatches of the 6 shades! I think they're all super pretty! I think my favourite shades would be Fresh Strawberry and Hazelnut Chocolate. 

The swatches above was just one swipe with my finger so they are pretty pigmented. That's quite expected of Etude House eyeshadows, especially their matte shadows. They're pretty easy to blend as well which again came as a surprise considering Etude House is classified as a drugstore brand or roadshop brand.

Sadly, there was one part of this product that I didn't really like. That would be the shade "Dip Dip!". It's the only shade that turned out to be a disappointment. Although it's a dark brown shade, it doesn't really appear dark brown. It's more towards the glittery side so I wasn't too impressed as I felt being the darkest colour in the palette, it was intended for it to be a shading shade.

I've also quite mixed feelings about the shade Hazelnut Chocolate. In the pan it appears more pinkish and when swatched too but somehow when applied on the eyes, it comes out more brown. So the first time using it, the whole look turned out different from what I imagined it to be. I’ll just have to be careful when using this shade.

Verdict

I would say this palette is pretty. I mean the strawberry packaging and strawberry shades, who can resist? But honestly, if it weren’t for the discount, I wouldn’t have gotten it either.

I wouldn’t say I’m a fan of all the shades but they’re not too bad like I mentioned above, Etude House is considered a drugstore brand so I would say they’re doing quite well with these eyeshadows.

I would recommend this palette if you’re a fan of Etude House products or use eyeshadows often otherwise you could get other products like maybe their single shadows, those probably would have a better colour payoff.

Etude House: Berry Delicious Haul ♥︎

Etude's House latest collection probably has everyone smitten. I was already deciding on what products to get even before the collection arrived in stores on 5th March 2016. Since the products were released in Korea first, I managed to do sufficient research searching for reviews before deciding what products to purchase.

So let's begin this quick haul post! I'll be doing separate reviews for these items in later posts. Many apologies that this post is going to go up so late as I was away on a holiday. Hope that it'll still be useful.

I think I really went quite crazy with this collection as you can see from the above photo. The anticipation probably built up while watching videos on the products.

1. Berry Delicious Colour in Liquid Lips

I got the colours RD305 Berry Berry Much and PK015 Berry Tropical Dream. I was deciding in between PK015 Berry Tropical Dream and PK014 Berry Cherry To Go. I went with PK015 in the end as the colour seemed more unique, more towards purple. The PK014 is more towards the pinkish orange side and rather similar to other lippies that I already own.

The colour payoff seemed quite good. That's how I ended up with two tubes. It retails for about SGD $17 for 3.5g of product. So far, it looks and feels different from the other Colour in Liquid Lips products will test it out and do a comparison in the review post.

2. Berry Delicious Fresh Cream Blusher

I don't need a new blusher but decided to try this product out after hearing about it's unique texture. Apparently people have been saying that it looks like a cream blusher but doesn't feel like it, it feels rather powdery. After testing it at the shop, the texture is somewhat in between a cream and a powder. So it probably wouldn't work with a brush. Even the sponge that comes with it is rather special. It's slightly sticky, probably catered to pick up the product. 

This product retailed about SGD $15 for 6g of product. It seems like this product might work well with the given sponge only. I tried swatching it using my finger and it really picked up quite a lot of product.

So far the few times that I've tried this product out, if you use a really light hand it shouldn't appear too thick. I think it suits my skin tone pretty well. The other two shades of blush may not suit darker skin tones as they're quite light and even fair people have reviewed that the product doesn't really appear.

3. Berry Delicious Strawberry Soufle Nail 

I got 3 colours out of the 10 shades they had. From left to right, #8, #10 and #1. I haven't tried any of these products yet but based on my experience with Etude House nail polishes, they seem to have pretty good colour payoff and they can last an average of 1 to 2 weeks with good base and top coat.

Etude House: Sweet Cherry Tint ♥︎

Here's another beauty product review! As promised, I would be writing more beauty reviews. They brought this product in not too long ago and it took me awhile before deciding to get it.

I check out the Etude House Korean website frequently enough to know all their new products. This product caught my eye when I first saw it. I liked the Fresh Cherry Tint which is a liquid tint and I wondered how this Sweet Cherry Tint would be like. Here's the description of the product:

This is a lip tint that provides moist, shiny, plump looking lips like a sweet cherry.

The testers at the Etude House store were kind of messed up so I didn't manage to test all the shades. I only got the product on the second or third visit to the store. Yes, it takes me time to purchase something. If I keep thinking about the product after I go home then it's certain that I'll have to buy it. 

My Thoughts

It costed about SGD $12 and comes with 1.8g of product. I don't particular consider it to be a lot of product but I do like that it's rather thin, making it easier for storage and also application. I can just quickly apply it on without much worry about it being applied outside of my lips. 

There's a down side to this product though. Although the packing appears like it's a normal lip stick or balm where you twist the bottom for the product to come out and back in. However, you can only twist this product out and not back in. I don't know if it's a good thing or not but it is not easy to twist this product out. You might be twisting for a long time and only a little product pops out but actually may be a good thing since you can't twist it back in. 

The colour payoff is pretty good. I had to swatch it on my wrist as I've gotten really tan recently and I wanted to show how the colour actually looks >.< Although it's the orange shade, it is more of a reddish orange.

In terms of moisturising factors, I find this quite moisturising despite it being a tint. I would think of it as a tint balm. Not only that, it doesn't have a matte finish but a rather glossy one. All these factors do match up to what they said it to be.

The Verdict

I would recommend this product to those who are looking for something natural looking, quick and easy to apply. The colour does show up quite clearly for a tint and also the moisturising qualities come as a plus point.

Etude House: Pure Water Baobab Cleansing Foam ♥︎

Here's another beauty product review! I guess you'll be seeing more beauty product reviews more frequently now!

At the beginning of September, I was given a sample of this product with another purchase from Etude House. I decided to try it out since I had an event and didn't want to carry a big bottle of facial cleanser out so I brought the sample. 

I liked how my face felt after using this cleanser so that week, I decided to purchase the full sized one from Etude House. 

My Thoughts 

For 150ml it retails around SGD $9.90. Which isn't too pricey compared to the other facial cleansers I've used before. I've used products from The Face Shop and Innisfree so comparing to those brands, this would be the cheapest facial cleanser I've gotten.

Since I tried the sample first, I didn't get to see the packaging. If I did see it first, I'm sure it would have caught my eye as well. Hehe. The pastel colours and the font looks so pretty! But what made me purchase it again was mostly the texture of the product and how my face felt after cleansing.

The product is like a gel substance and it foams up really well. I didn't dare to squeeze too much on my first try but it was able to wash my whole face. So I felt that it was worth the money as I don't need to use a lot of product. 

It also has a pleasant scent. It's not too overpowering but it's a sweet scent, not particular floral either. 

The Verdict

Comparing this to the previous face wash I was using, the Apple Juicy Cleanser from Innisfree, I felt like this wasn't too drying and in fact quite moisturising. The skin around my nose stopped peeling. Also, after using it a few times, the skin around my nose decreased in redness.

Other than looking pretty, the packing is pretty good too. Good in the sense that the cover does close properly unlike some other brands of facial cleansers where the cover doesn't close tightly after awhile. Personally, I prefer if the cover closes well as I don't like water going in to dilute the product. It just makes it feel yucky and unhygienic.

I would recommend this product to whoever who's looking for a basic facial cleanser that's moisturising. I like that it isn't too strong and my face doesn't feel tight or dry after using it.

Hi friends! It's been awhile but here's another beauty review for you! It's quite a new product that arrived on our sunny shores not too long ago!

My friend got me this for my birthday! It was a belated birthday present but nonetheless I love it! The Dreaming Swan was an exclusive series that was only available at the Etude House as Vivo. My friend purchased this from qoo10 though, the prices would be slightly cheaper than purchasing it from the shops here. Currently, I think the Dreaming Swan series is available at other Etude House stores but I haven't seen the Shine Volumer on sale, just the lipstick and the blush.

I initially wasn't thinking of getting this but I've seen photos and it really does look pretty. Here's the description of the product:

Dreaming Swan Collection by 'Etude House X Kerrie Hess'. A Pearl-Cream multi shadow that absorbed brightly and smoothly on every area that needs dazzling shimmer.

1. Crystal shine pearl: Transparently and delicately shiny pearl that makes moisturized lovely eyes.
2. Clear pearl expression: Powerful instant fitting system keeps pearl not to fall out for delicate and clear pearl expression.
3. Volume multi texture: Bounce-up gel type texture to express 3D-effect volume.

4. Moisturising texture: Non-sticky and moisturising texture to provide shiny volume on broad area.

How to use

Apply a certain amount by gently dabbing onto areas that need dazzling shimmer such as under the eyes or the bridge of nose.

I haven't tried this product on my nose yet. I usually use this on my eyes. Similar to Etude House Tear Drop Liner, I would apply this on the lower lash line and slightly on the inner upper corner of my eyes. This product is much more pigmented than the Tear Drop Liner so it can be used as an eyeshadow as well.

My Thoughts

First of all, I have to say, Etude House has really pretty packaging! I can't emphasise enough how much I love their packaging. Hehe. I love the whole ballerina theme and design. It reminded me of my ballet days when I was younger.

The applicator is pretty different from the Tear Drop Liner which uses a brush. This applicator is a spongey one and it picks up more product than the brush.

As so I like to blend it out with my fingers as one gentle dab would already apply quite a lot of product. I think it would look too frightening to leave that amount of sparkle around my eyes. 

The shade that I got Shine Tutu is a pinkish slightly peachy shade that resembles the colour of a ballet tutu. I chose this one as it seemed more natural amongst the three shades. Also, the first two shades are similar to the Tear Drop Liners that I already own. So why not get something different right? 

The Verdict

On the whole I really like this product. Since I've enjoyed using the Tear Drop Liners, I wasn't expecting anything less from this product. And of course, this product exceeded my expectations! I like how it's formula is thicker and more pigmented than the Tear Drop Liner which then allows it to last longer throughout the day. 

I would recommend this to all those who likes highlighting your aegyo-sal and adding some sparkle into your look. Adding this would make your look a little cutesy so it may not be for everyone. Nonetheless, if you like sparkly things, I'd totally recommend this.

June 2015 Makeup Faves: Lip Products Special ♥︎

Back with another makeup favourites post!

This month, instead of the usual makeup favourites post, this post is going to be on lip products! In the month of June I have purchased a lot of lip products enough to write an entire post on it! I've been using many of this products on a daily basis, with an exception of some lazy days.

There's a total of 5 lip products! 2 products from Etude House, 1 from Banila Co., 1 from Too Cool For School and 1 from 3CE.

Anyway, let's get right to it!

Etude House Dreaming Swan Dear My Blooming Lips Talk PK024 Hot Pink

This would be my favourite lip product out of the 5. Even though it's supposed to be like hot pink, it actually comes out rather sheer and just the perfect shade of pink for everyday wear. Once I forgot to bring out a blush and I used this on my cheeks as well. It wasn't too outstanding but visible just enough for it to be seen.

I've read certain reviews saying that this product is more matte than expected but surprisingly I did not find it too drying. I do apply a layer of Laneige's Lip Primer to be safe though, it helps protect your lips.

Banila Co. it Moist Seoul Tint in Lacquer 03 GarosuGil 

I think out of the lot, this would be the most expensive product. It cost about USD $14 from koreadepart.com. I was deciding which shade to get and both 02 Jihyo Pink and 03 GarosuGil caught my eye. I decided on 03 GarosuGil in the end as I thought it seemed more unique and a lot of reviews recommended it.

This product is pigmented and it's thick so I don't have to apply a lot. Despite it being thick, I like how it feels on my lips. It doesn't dry out my lips and it does last fairly long so I don't have to keep touching up unless I eat something.

I would recommend this to my friends although it's not so easy to get it since it isn't a brand found locally. You'd have to order it online or purchase it from Korea.

Too Cool For School Milk Tint #2 Milk Orange

I learned about this product from a youtube tutorial by a Korean youtuber called daddoa. I'll include the video at the end of this section!

It's a lip tint so I didn't expect it to be thick so I'm quite pleased with the texture of this product. It applies easily and the colour isn't bright orange but a peachy orange that blends in with my own lip colour to just give it a natural look. I think it's good for days where I feel really lazy to apply anything, I would just apply this product and head out.

Etude House Color in Liquid Lips PK001 Pink in Ribbon

So basically I bought this lipstick on impulse. I tend to do that... Walking into Etude House without intending to get anything but end up leaving with something. I thought I wouldn't be getting anything but once I started testing the product on my hand, I knew I would be getting it.

The texture of this product isn't like other products I've owned. It's really thick and the colour payoff is really worth the price. It costed me about $17! I don't usually apply a lot of it, I just dot it sparsely on my lips and use my fingers to blend it out. Sometimes it's thicker than I expected so I'll use a tissue to dab off the excess.

Recently, Etude House came out with new shades for this line. I think it was a collaboration with another company so it comes with a new packaging as well. It's called Bling Me Prism Color in Liquid Lips a collaboration with a Korean (jewellery??) brand High Cheeks. Quite tempted to get them if they come to local stores or I could just get them online.

3CE Dot Edition Original Lip Colour #802 Love Sick

This product is a part of the dot series by 3CE, it's a limited edition series so I don't think you'll be able to find this on their official website but you might find it on other websites. I think it costed about ₩17,000.

Hehehe feeling happy just looking at this lip product. My friend helped me purchase the black casing version of this product in Korea when she went there last year. After using it for a few months, I decided that I should get the white casing version as well. It feels like I'm not wearing anything on my lips and the colours are really pretty!

For 802 Love Sick, the colour is a little special. In some lightings it looks red, in some lightings it looks pinkish. I like that it's not too bright for a red lipstick so it's possible to wear daily.

Oh dear, it's going to be the middle of the month again by the time this goes up! So I shall not take up anymore time with a long introduction and let's go right into it!

I've 2 products that I've been loving in the month of May!

Tony Moly Crystal Blusher 07 Bronzing Brown

In the past months, I think I've mentioned I've just purchased the Etude House Face Colour Corset which is also a bronzer (Read about it here). Shortly after that, I purchased this Tony Moly one on Koreadepart.com after searching and reading that Koreans generally prefer this Tony Moly bronzer and ranked it the 1st Korean bronzer. So amongst the 2, I do actually prefer this Tony Moly bronzer.

The colour is closer to my own skin tone so it doesn't look like I'm contouring too much. Looking natural is the best!

I mostly use this to contour my jaw and my cheeks area slightly. It's mainly to make my foundation appear less white on my face. It's a constant problem here since it's a tropical climate country. We don't have four seasons although we do have hot and hotter seasons. So my skin tone may appear tan or tanner depending on the amount of sunlight I'm exposed to.

I would recommend this product for those with light to natural skin tones otherwise it may not appear.

Etude House Fresh Cherry Tint PK002 Hot Pink

The second favourite product for the month of May, is this lip tint! I bought this on impulse some time ago. (Yes, I buy a lot of new items on impulse. #suckerforprettypackaging) I happen to really like how it looks on my lips! It's pink but so natural! I actually asked the sales assistant for the most natural looking tint and was pleasantly surprised as I didn't expect anything much from it.

The tint actually appears differently on different people. I think it's because everyone has a different original lip colour and also it reacts slightly to the heat (or acidity or something scientific).

So, I would recommend this to anyone who is well... Lazy... It's really gives some colour to your face without having to put in any effort. It's a colour that would go well with any makeup look. Even without any makeup on, it wouldn't stand out.

March 2015 Makeup Faves ♥︎

Here's another monthly makeup favourites post! Will be talking about some of my favourite makeup products for the month of March! I know it's already almost the end of April and yet I've not completed writing this post. Sometimes I just forget what are the products that I've been using. Hopefully I can remember what I've been using for April.

Anyway, let's get on with the post! For the month of March, I've been loving mostly Etude House products. Most of the items in my makeup collection are from Etude House actually. Haha.

The Face Shop Design My Eyebrow 04 Brown & Etude House Drawing Show Brush Liner in Black

I got this while I was on my holiday in KL last year. I haven't actually plucked my brows since nearly the end of last year so after plucking it, I decided to get this. I was planning on getting one from Etude House but all their brow pencils were sold out so I headed to The Face Shop to get it. Thankfully, they had it and it was even on sale! I got this product for I think about SGD $6.

I have been using it often in the month of March before I had my bangs. I like how natural it looks. Usually people would style their brows to match their hair but I don't need to use any extra product like brow gel. I mean also because I don't have dyed hair. My hair is just naturally dark brownish.

Unlike some other brow products I've seen people using, this one applies pretty smoothly and I don't need to use extra force. Also, it blends out easily with the screw brush that comes with it at the other end. (Photos of product below)

As for the Etude House brush liner... I've been loving it recently since I've gotten rather lazy to use my gel liner! The thing about gel liners is that you've to clean the brush after every use. So it actually saves a lot of time using a brush tip liner. Also, a brush tip liner is really thin and it can give you a precise line, especially if you're drawing a wing. (Photos of product above.)

I like how this brush liner is pretty waterproof as well. In the humid Singapore weather, it's pretty important to have waterproof products. You wouldn't want your eyeliner smudging all over the place ><

Etude House Color Lips Fit 

The next product I've been loving in the month of March is Color Lips Fit from Etude House! I've written a review on this product before and you can read it here!

I usually and mostly forget to apply anything on my lips in the morning rush. When I do, I make sure to bring whatever shade I'm using for that day along with me for any last minute touch ups.

Innisfree Bija Anti-Trouble Essence W

Next up is a skin care product! I got this as a recommendation from the Innisfree staff. I was using this Clean and Clear acne treatment cream but they stopped bringing it into Singapore so I had to find something new. At that time, Innisfree had just arrived on our shores so I decided to give it a try.

It's quite a gentle formula and it doesn't dry out my skin or cause any sensitivity. Apparently there's also a R formula which treat those painful red zits. Maybe I should try that out too since the weather is getting hotter and I'll be more prone to breakouts!

Etude House Give Me Chocolate Mint Chocolate

I got this nail colour over Valentine's Day but I haven't had the chance to try it yet. Finally got to try it in March and I'm quite pleased with it.

For some weird reason, the smell of this nail polish smells different. I don't know if it's meant to smell like chocolate but it does have a more pleasant scent than the usual nail polish smell. The strange thing about this nail polish is that it peels off easily. After 2 weeks, normal nail polish would just be chipping off at the corners. But for this one, if you pick at it, you can actually just peel it off in one piece!

Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos for that. It was pretty cool though.
