Bangkok Day 3: Terminal 21 ❤

On our third day in Bangkok, we headed off to the Terminal 21 mall. It's a pretty new mall that had the concept of an airport. Every floor was assigned a country and so every time you arrived on a new floor, it would be like arriving in a new country. 

All around the mall, you would find famous landmarks and sights from various countries.

Managed to take more photos on this day as the day before I got a small bag for myself and had the chance to take more pictures. The Terminal 21 mall itself wasn't very crowded so I felt safe to whip out my phone and snap snap! 

Of course after much walking, we needed to take a break. We settled at a nice cafe. They had delicious looking cakes so we ordered a slice each.

We decided to take the train back as we had a scary experience with the taxi on the way to the mall. The taxi driver wanted to bring us somewhere when my mum asked him to turn on the meter. It was seriously quite scary. I really don't trust the taxis there >< 

As the train station was just beside the mall, we took the train and decided to go to Central World mall to shop and then have our dinner there.

We had Thai food for dinner again but before that, we had a snack from Auntie Anne's. Surprisingly it's quite popular there.

I guess it could be because the prices here are increasing and the prices there are still quiet reasonable. And aside from the usual pretzel menu, they have other things on the menu that taste pretty good. Of course, the lemonade there is the best! 

January Playlist ❤

First post for the year ^^ Yippee! Blessed 2014 everyone! 

School's starting on Monday ㅠㅠ so for the month of January, I've selected songs from my iTunes library to create this work playlist. A playlist that's suitable for doing assignments. 

You would find mostly noisy and lively songs that you can sing to. No sleepy songs to tempt me to fall asleep while doing my assignments. Many assignments coming my way so the louder the songs are, the better ^^

Bangkok Day 2: Platinum Mall Part 1

So this is going to be a boring post as I've no pictures of this day. 

We spent the whole day shopping at the Platinum Mall and nothing but just that. Hehe.

The Platinum Mall is seriously huge. There are two sides to the mall, the old side and the new side. The old side has about 6 floors of shops and the new mall has about 5 floors. The new mall is smaller as compared to the old mall. The old mall is seriously huge! There are rows and rows of shops! My mum had to devise some plan so that we could walk without missing any shops and not get lost. It's something like Bugis Street here only that it's about 10 times bigger. 

We didn't have to just think about not getting lost but at the same time we had to squeeze through people! It's always crowded no matter what day you're there. Apparently it's a wholesale mall so there'll be people walking around with big bags buying stock for their shops. I heard that many local blog shops get their stocks from there. 

It is a very good place to shop. There's this thing called 'wholesale price' over there. So it will cost you lesser when you buy more things from the same shop. Of course some shops allow you to mix the items but some shops only allow you to get more of the same item to get the wholesale price >< Some shops will give you the wholesale price for two items and some three. So it's still pretty good ^-^ Who doesn't love discounted shopping? 

After shopping, we headed to Central World for dinner. If I'm not wrong we have steamboat for dinner. I can't really remember as I'm blogging this so much later omo. The tom yum soup was to die for. It was seriously delicious! But also very spicy >< 

We went to the supermarket to get like... snacks. What's a holiday without junk food and snacks right? Guess what I found at the supermarket?

Just looking at it I know it's delicious! Hahaha. I bought three packets. Totally cannot resist! I felt like there was a total lack of kpop things there. So when I saw this I was totally happy!! Other than seeing Nickhun's face here and there, there was really nothing else kpop there ㅠㅠ 

Bangkok Day 1: Chatuchak Market

This is the beginning of our family trip part 1 ^^ 

This year we decided to go to two places instead of our usual one place. But last year when we went on our family trip, omma wasn't around so it was like we haven't gone on a family trip for two years. So our first stop was Bangkok! 

We caught a morning flight and arrived in Bangkok around 2 plus in the afternoon. We check into our hotel, Amari Watergate, which was right opposite the Platinum mall :> We had two adjoining rooms and it was really comfortable! The rooms were spacious and the toilet was big. The location of this hotel was good as well as it was right opposite many shopping malls. 

We headed out for lunch and since it was rather late and a Sunday, the food places were crowded. We settled for something easy and quick - Macdonald's :> It's somehow a weird habit of mine to eat Macdonald's at least once no matter which country I go to.

Right after that, we headed off to Chatuchak Market in a taxi from our hotel. The Chatuchak Market is only opened on the weekends and it's really huge! 

When we first got there, we didn't know where to start. There was just rows and rows of shops! I wouldn't be surprised if you actually got lost in there. I wonder how do the people working there actually locate their shop. All the lanes look the same >< I don't have many photos of the place as it was crowded and I didn't want to risk my phone getting pick pocketed. 

I didn't buy many things there either. As the Chatuchak Market has become somewhat of a tourist destination, it was rather difficult to haggle and things were not very cheap there. Friends who've been there before said that it used to be cheaper. Also, I was saving the shopping for Platinum Mall where I've heard things were cheaper and the variety wider. 

I think the Chatuchak Market would be good for those who enjoy buying one of a kind clothes. There were many shops that sold things designed by the person running the shop. My sister enjoyed shopping in those shops. She bought accessories and shirts. I guess you can say that there were more unusual stuff than the usual? They seriously sold almost everything and anything there. Even puppies! ^-^ 

We didn't stay at the there for a long time as it was hot and starting to get more and more crowded. We headed out to the road side to get a cab but seriously the taxi system is quite scary over there >< The taxi drivers would request for a fixed price instead of turning on the meter. If you asked them to turn on the meter, they would bring you to some shop which I think sponsors them petrol or something. Thankfully, we were able to flag down a seemingly honest looking taxi driver who charged us a reasonable fixed price of 200 baht, since there was a jam and all.

We were stuck in traffic for about an hour. We dropped off our shopping then went to the Central World mall for dinner. Finally, I've some photos to post! Hope nobody's asleep from the super long just-words segment ><

December Playlist

Was just listening to some song in my iTunes library and decided to make a playlist for December. Hee. It has 69 songs in it ^^ 

I basically just scrolled through my iTunes library and choose songs that matched my mood. And these were the songs that I've chosen.
